GOP Argues Against Healthcare Reform Measure

By: RNS
Updated: March 21, 2010
(Washington, DC) -- The clock is ticking on Capitol Hill as the push for votes to enact healthcare reform goes into the final stages. The legislation is set to be voted on by the House Sunday. While congressional lawmakers are being leaned to cast a "yes" vote for the overhaul measure, Republicans used their weekly radio address Saturday to argue against the bill becoming law. House Minority Leader John Boehner repeated his concerns about what he called "a partisan path and a costly big-government agenda." He said the bill "actually raises premiums and ushers in a massive expansion of government."
