Cost Of Cigarettes Goes Up In Texas

Smokers in Texas will be paying a dollar more for a pack of cigarettes and ten dollars more a carton. The tax increase was passed by lawmakers last year. The tax increase on cigarettes in Texas will help pay for property tax cuts passed by lawmakers. Some of the people with spoke with say they will consider quitting because of the tax increase. Others say it`s simply ridiculous to pay that much for cigarettes but that won`t stop them from smoking. The tax increase also means more work for those who manage tobacco shops in Texas. Even though some shops were closed today owners came in to change all the prices on cigarettes sold in the stores.
