U.S. Postal Service Announces Delivery And Workforce Cuts

By: RNS
Updated: March 2, 2010
(Washington, DC) -- Say goodbye to mail service on Saturdays. The U.S. Postal Service today said it will be ending weekend delivery pending approval by Congress of the plan. The USPS is also going to cut 30,000 jobs, raise prices and cut down on overtime for postal employees. The changes are due to a drastic drop in the amount of business being done by the Postal Service as people turn more to sending e-mail and paying bills over the Internet.
