On this Martin Luther King Day, Americans celebrated the man and his dream.

Marches through cities like Las Vegas, San Antonio, rain-soaked Sacramento and Memphis, where DR. King was fighting injustice when he drew his last breath in 1968.

In the city where he was born, Atlanta there was church service.

So, too in Harlem.

But this holiday has become about helping others.

In Columbia, South Carolina, an NAACP rally turned into a fund-raiser for Haiti earthquake victims.

The first family took the call to service quite literally serving meals to the homeless and hungry at a Washington soup kitchen.

Later, at the White House the nation's first African American president met with pioneers of the civil rights movement and the youngsters who will come of age in a changed world.

King Day 2010 celebrating a leader whose life still inspires more than four decades after his passing.
