Officials said today the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will use nearly 1.8 million dollars to remove trees, tree limbs and other vegetative debris to allow safe public access to the Big Lake Wildlife Management Area.
The commission will put more than 1.5 million dollars toward removing uprooted trees and broken limbs on roads, trails, levees, boat lanes, and fire lanes maintained for public access at the Dave Donaldson/Black River Wildlife Management Area. The funding is being awarded through the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
