Bossier City police arrested a man in connection with a case involving stolen credit cards and checks that was the subject of recent media reports. 37-year-old James Brett Harte was arrested and booked into the Bossier City Jail on several charges including forgery and access device fraud for using the stolen checks and credit cards to buy nearly $4000 in merchandise at several Bossier City stores.
Shreveport police recently arrested Harte in an unrelated matter and discovered that he was the subject seen on surveillance video using an attempting to use checks and credit cards at a number of Shreveport and Bossier City retail stores. The checks and credit cards were reportedly stolen during a carjacking that occured in Shreveport on October 30. Shreveport and Bossier City police had been conducting a joint investigation into the case.
One of Harte`s alleged crimes was profiled in a November 2, 2006 Bossier City Police news release about a suspect caught on surveillance video attempting to pass a stolen check at the Sears in Pierre Bossier Mall.
