The newly elected Shreveport City Council met for the first time Tuesday at Government Plaza. The city`s new mayor was also at the council meeting. The meeting started off with Mayor Cedric Glover appointing Tom Dark as the acting Chief Administrative Officer for the the city of Shreveport. Dark, who has been with the city for 30 years, could become the permanent CAO or could be replaced by another choice. Chairman Monty Walford spent some time explaining to the new council members how council meetings operate and how the process of passing legislation works. This first meeting gave the new and old council members a chance to get acquainted with one other.
