Shreveport City Councilman Asks For Disparity Study

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
The current city council held its final work session Monday. One of the things that came up at the meeting was to have the new council and new administration conduct a disparity study. The city of Shreveport already has a program in place geared towards increasing work for minorities businesses. It`s called the fair share program. Recently some on the city council have wondered whether or not the program is doing what it should. The issue brought up another concern for city council members. They want to know if minorities in the city of Shreveport are being treated fairly. To answer that question councilman Calvin Lester proposed the city conduct a disparity study and improve the program already in place.
