Taking "HEAT" Off The Streets In Webster Parish

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
Law enforcement agencies across the state are getting more than they bargained for, thanks to a crackdown on reckless driving. The "100 Days of Heat" campaign is meant to target traffic violations, but in many cases is leading to arrests, even drug busts. Webster Parish Sheriff`s deputies made a significant arrest this week, with a traffic stop resulting in a large amount of marijuana, now off the streets. "A no seatbelt ticket and it lead up to a felony possession of a firearm and several grams of marijuana. We hope to make more arrests like that in the future," said Captain Don Smith.
