Military troops are reporting lower morale but there is a local organization hoping to brighten the holidays. Operation Support Our Troops will be sending Christmas boxes but still need donations. The non-profit organization supports deployed and wounded troops int he Middle East by sending encouragement, non-perishable food and hygiene items several times a year.  Its motto is "As long as they're there, we'll be here."

The deadline for all items to be sent this year for Christmas is Saturday, November 21 by 10:00 am.  Items can be dropped off any day this week between 9-5:30 to American Climate Controlled Storage at 6721 Pines Rd., Shreveport.
