1st Homecoming Week Ever in the History of SUSLA November 9-14, 2009, will be the first Homecoming Week in the history of SUSLA. The theme is "Futuristic Swag," which speaks to the institutions forward thinking. Tickets are on sale now for $10 and covers admission for all the homecoming events. Scheduled Activities: Monday, November 9 NOON - Homecoming Parade 3050 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive Whose participating: Campus clubs, organizations, faculty, and Miss SUSLA, and her royal court 1:00PM - SUSLA Alumni Luncheon Jesse N. Stone Science and Lecture Hall Guest Speaker - Domoine Rutledge, SU National Alumni Federation President Open Mic Night - 7:00PMpm Featuring local poets, singers, musician, and special guest, Poetic X Tuesday, November 10 NOON - Faculty/Staff appreciation day 7:30PM Coronation for Denisha Foster, Miss SUSLA-Elect Health and Physical Education Complex (GYM) Theme "A night with the Queen," reception immediately Wednesday, November 11th 12pm - Faculty/ Staff vs. Students basketball game 7:30pm Comedy Show Health and Physical Education Complex (GYM) Special guests - BET Comic View comedians Benji Brown and Coco Brown and singer, Damar "DJ" Jackson. Thursday, November12th NOON - Jaguar Survivor J. L. Vance Student Activity Center lawn This event will have various games and food for students 7:30pm - Greek Show Health and Physical Education Complex (GYM) lawn Performing guest, rapper, Big Poppa Friday, November, 13th NOON - Pep Rally Health and Physical Education Complex (GYM) Lady Jags 6pm, and Port City Jaguars at 8pm. Saturday, November 14th Homecoming Party Health and Physical Education Complex (GYM) Southern University at Shreveport, an institution within the Southern University System, seeks to provide a quality education for its students, while being committed to the total community. This institution prepares students for careers in technical and occupational fields; awards certificates and associate degrees as well as offering courses and programs that are transferable to other colleges and universities.
