$290,000 Grant to Help Sexual Assault Victims

A federal grant will help improve local response to sexual assaults. The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s office received the $290,000 grant from the Department of Justice, Office on Violence against women. The money will be used over the next two years for law enforcement overtime, training and medical personnel training. Officials hope the grant will improve services for sexual assault victims as well as increase arrest and conviction rates in Caddo Parish.
