70-percent of all animals that live in homes of abusers are also abused according to YWCA Director Amy OPry. So they are trying to raise awareness during the Week Without Violence Kickoff on Saturday, October 17th. (Events are going on all week. For more information click on the link above this article.) Confronting Violence Against Animals PETWALK EVENT 10am-2pm Columbia Park Pet owners and animal lovers are invited to share in fun filled activities, contests and more helping to bring awareness to animal abuse and family violence.
