Known to rock the crowd at local high school football games the Indian Creek Band has a great reputation for entertaining but part of their half-time show has just been sidelined by the superintendent after complaints of some provocative tunes.

"Certain songs from what I heard they were playing, yeah, I wouldn't let my daughter listen to them on the radio so I sure as heck wouldn't want her to go to a game and listen to them," said parent Brandi Mossor.

Two songs have parents outraged.

One is by Britney Spears and has some scandalous lyrics.

Junior drummer Rome Edgar defends the creek's choice to play it.

"You know that Brittney spears song. You know what that stands for. Did you not think you were gonna get in trouble?” asked reporter Jackie Caine.

“Well our main point is it's a popular song but you don't hear the lyrics at all. We don't sing any of the lyrics. We didn't think it would be a big deal because its just music," defended drummer Rom Edgar.

The other song the band shouts out in the routine.

"Sush girl, shut your lips, do the Helen Keller and talk with your hips. You could take that suggestively but we didn't mean for it to be taken that way," recited Edgar.

THE SONGS ARE BANNED FROM THE ROUTINE BUT SOME OF THE PLAYERS AREN'T GOING QUIETLY.

IN FACT THEY PLAN TO PROTEST AT THE NEXT SCHOOL BOARD MEETING.

PARENT BRANDI MOSSOR THINKS IT'S A BAD SITUATION THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED BY THE BAND DIRECTOR.

"All the music they have to change it around and it takes so long, yeah I think it’s sad. They have nothing to play cause half their songs are the inappropriate music. Yeah I think it's terrible," said Mossor.

Superintendent Jene Watkins says he won't seek any punishment against the band director he feels it was just a bad choice.
