Harold and Kumar are coming to the Ark-La-Tex.Mandate FiIms plans to shoot the sequel to "Harold and Kumar go to White Castle" tentatively called "Harold and Kumar go to Amsterdam," almost entirely in Shreveport. It`s the latest movie to announce plans to film in Northwest Louisiana. "We have one that`s currently filming . And there`s been some other names in the media such as `Blonde Ambition` with Jessica Simpson," said Brandy Evans, Vice President of Communications for the Shreveport-Bossier Convention and Tourism Bureau So far 10 projects have wrapped including `Mr. Brooks and the Guardian, which was released just last month. And the Shreveport-Bossier Film Offce is working hard to keep the business coming. "In fact Betty Jo LeBrun-Mooring is in California right now meeting with several producers to bring some additional projects back to our area," said Evans. And the main challenge for getting them here, is assuring productions companies that Shreveport-Bossier has the crew base and tools they need to get the job done. "We certainly want to continue to grow the infrastructure that the film industry needs while they`re here... such as sound studios the water tank is a big asset for us. And we just want to keep the projects coming in on a steady and consistent basis," said Evans. And with more films like "Harold and Kumar" choosing to shoot in our area. Shreveport-Bossier is well on it`s way to becoming Hollywood South.
