Search Continues For Man Who Fell From Texas Street Bridge

"Never seen nothing like that before." Torrey Antwine was fishing along the Red River Saturday when he heard the splash of what appeared to be a body falling from the Texas Street Bridge into the water. "I don`t know if he jumped... did he fall off intentionally or what?" said Antwine. Shreveport Fire Dive Team Leader Craig Bynog says a River Cruise Captain also witnessed the fall. "The trolley guy saw him after he`d hit the water and come up." Investigators combed the area for most of the day, using witness information as their guide. But after several hours of searching, the mission went from rescue to recovery. Sunday morning cadaver dogs were called in to help narrow the search. "They can gather the scent that`s released from the body to a pretty good area," said Bynog. Dive teams marked the perimeter and the search intensified. But murky waters hampered their efforts. "There`s no visibility at all. It`s strictly going by feel,"said Bynog. Still investigators say they`re confident they will eventually find a body. "If the information that we got from the gentlemen is true.. then yeah we`ll find him... without a doubt,"said Bynog. Once the body is found we still may never know the mysterious circumstances surrounding the fall.
