Shreveport Police Arrest A Rape Suspect

Updated: February 6, 2007
Shreveport police has been trying to solve a rape that happened years ago at the Living Water Faith Center, a church in Queensboro. Monday they finally did. Back in 2003 a woman was cleaning the church on Kentucky and Greenwood when a man showed up at the door. She let him in. He ended up raping her. At that time police had no idea who the suspect was. The suspect was later arrested and booked into jail by state police. The D-N-A gathered by the state is what Shreveport police detective Rod Demery says linked suspect Willie Evans to the unsolved rape case in Queensboro. "As I investigated I found out that he actually lived in that neighborhood and he frequented the area where she was raped." Detectives found him in the neighborhood and interviewed the suspect. They even got him to confess about what he did. Evans was charged with forcible rape.
