Randy Sams shelter in downtown Texarkana reports an increase in people seeking a cool place to stay during the day.  Normally the shelter has few people in the daytime, however, numbers have jumped to as high as 60.

The heat advisory ends at 7 p.m. Wednesday night.  Officials will issue a new advisory on a case-by-case basis.
