The Texarkana, TX City Council will decide if some water customers should get a break on bills.  A proposal to reduce water rates for industrial customers could be approved as soon as Monday night during the council meeting.  City spokeswoman Vicki Melde says if approved, businesses can expect to see up to a 30% reduction in water costs.

Melde says the idea is to spur economic development during these tough times.  City leaders are hoping businesses can put the extra cash toward hiring more workers, or other company needs.  Dr. Charles Marrow welcomes the idea saying savings to his practice translates to savings to his patients.  The council will also take up changing speed limits on some streets and altering ordinances dealing with pets.
