MICHELLE WHITE LAFITTE 
NBC 6 NEWS ANCHOR

Award-winning journalist Michelle White Lafitte brings a wealth of experience and energy to NBC6, where she co-anchors the 5 and  6 p.m. newscasts.

Before moving to NBC6, Michelle earned high praise and journalistic accolades as the primary anchor at KSLA from 2000-2006.

Michelle is an advocate for issues involving women and children, and has worked with LaCHIP in cooperation with Christus Schumpert Health Systems. She is a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, the Shreveport Chapter of the Links, Inc., and a life-long member NAACP.

Michelle has more than 20 years experience as a broadcast journalist, serving as an anchor, reporter, and manager at stations in Nebraska, New Jersey, North Carolina, and Louisiana. She is a graduate of Dillard University in New Orleans, and has done graduate work in Communications at Loyola University, also in New Orleans. She is currently single.
