More Than $15,000 In Reward Money Offered In Murder Case

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
Citizens and supporters of Herby K`s restaurant are hoping that $15,250 in reward money will entice someone to come forward with the information on the person who robbed and shot one of the restaurant`s owners in July. 58-Year-Old John Bean was at the restaurant in the 1800 block of Pierre about 9:30 p.m. July 28 when a masked gunman entered the business. The suspect demanded money and an altercation ensued between Bean and the suspect. Bean was shot and rushed to LSU Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries from the gunshot wound. Although detectives have worked numerous leads in the case, no arrest has been made. It is hoped the reward money will generate additional attention to the case and prompt someone with information to come forward. Anyone who gives information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the suspect is eligible for the reward money, as well as an additional $1,000 in Crime Stoppers funds. If someone would like to add money to this reward account, they may do so at First Louisiana Bank in the name of the John Bean Reward Account. Anyone with information is asked to call Violent Crimes detectives at 673-6955 or Crimestoppers at 673-7373.
