Head Queen and Pulpwood Queen creator Kathy Patrick will make her debut as an author when her book The Pulpwood Queens Tiara-Wearing, Book-Sharing Guide to Life is released in January. The book talks about Patrick's life and the creation of the largest book club in the country, the Pulpwood Queens. At the end of each chapter, Patrick recommends a list of books for readers to enjoy. Her book is already offered on major bookseller websites, and Patrick will go on a national tour in January to promote it.

In Jefferson, Patrick owns and operates Beauty and the Book, which boasts to be the only beauty shop bookstore combo in the country.
