Shreveport Man Arrested For Internet Sex Crime

Members of the Northwest Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force have arrested a Shreveport man for soliciting sex on the Internet from an undercover officer posing as a 14-year-old girl. 57-year-old Roy E. Gerritsen was arrested Monday night on charges of Computer Aided Solicitation of a Minor and Attempted Carnal Knowledge of a Juvenile for arranging to meet with what he thought was a 14-year-old girl at a location in Bossier City for the purpose of having sex. Task force members arrested him upon his arrival. Gerritson was booked into the Bossier City Jail and was later transported to the Bossier Parish Maximum Security Jail. The crime of Computer Aided Solicitation of a Minor carries a fine of up to ten thousand dollars and two to ten years in prison without benefit of parole. The crime of Attempted Carnal Knowledge of a Juvenile carries a possible sentence of a $2,500 fine and/or five years imprisonment.
