The Pet Place Needs Your Help

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
A generous donation could be a savior for some local pet lovers. The Humane Society of Harrison County, Texas, is working to build a safe haven for lost and stray animals. The Society operates Marshall`s animal shelter and right now, it isn`t big enough to meet the animals` needs. The Society will soon be operating out of a new facility called "The Pet Place". When it opens, animals can be pulled from the city shelter and taken to this haven for one more shot at adoption. "We have a terrible animal welfare problem and we need to make a push in our society for not only spay and neuter and adoptions but education about pet care, " said Society President, Sally Socia. The Society must raise more than 100,000 dollars. When the amount is raised, a supporter has agreed to match the funds. The Harrison County Humane Society hopes to be in "The Pet Place" by December. If you are interested in donating call 903-5784-742.
