A Texarkana native received a very special honor today -- one with her name written all over it. "Well, it really is overwhelming, and of course it is a great honor, but at the same time Im just a little bit taken aback because a highway is never the work of one person," says Prissy Hickerson, former Arkansas Highway Commissioner. Hickerson, her family and friends were on hand as members of the Commission unveiled the new Hickerson Freeway, formerly known as the Highway 245 Loop. Hickerson was instrumental in its completion. Shes one of three women to sit on the commission after being appointed by former Governor Mike Huckabee. Hickerson resigned her position as chairman earlier this year
