Traffic Meets Technology Along Interstate-20

State of the Art Technology is being installed along Interstate-20 in our area. It is called I.T.S. and will monitor traffic at hotspots and interchanges in Shreveport-Bossier. The systen cost Louisiana taxpayers 6-million dollars. It includes 17 cameras, 9 message boards and 60 radar detectors. By watching traffic and charting an increase or decrease in speed, workers will be able to respond faster to incidents along the interstate. "Today there are 75,000 vehicles per day, there is not money to widen bridges and stuff. This something we can actually do to operate and maintain roadways as opposed to adding additional capacity," said Keith Tindell, LA DOTD District Traffic Operations Engineer. The system is now in the testing phase. Officials hope to have all the kinks worked out by the end of October.

Police arrest suspect in stabbing

An argument between two brothers ends with a stabbing in the cedar grove neighborhood.

police say 26 year old edward bouya was stabbed in the chest by his 16 year old brother.

bouya was taken to a local hospital with non- life threatening injuries..

his brother is charged with aggravated battery... His name is being with held because he is a minor..
