(Washington, DC) -- This one is for the ladies.
DC Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton, who has hosted awareness talks for the men of Washington, DC is now focusing on the women of a city that, per capita, has one of the highest HIV/AIDS infection rates in the world.
"Sex in the City," a town hall meeting for women, is being held tonight.
Its aim, according to Norton, is to bring out of the shadows issues that stand in the way of stronger, trusting relationships today: homophobia, superstition, denial about sexually transmitted diseases, deceit in relationships, multiple partners, unsafe sex, the decline in marriage and its effects on children.
"The only featured guests will be you.
There is no program, no experts, just women talking to women about taking their lives and their futures into their own hands," Norton says.
The meeting is the third in a series of community forums.
It gets underway at 6:30 p.m. in the Pavilion of the Ronald Reagan Building at 13th and Pennsylvania Avenue, NW.
