As the nation remembers September 11th, volunteers from our area also remember.
Amy Green, a Family Services Coordinator with the Red Cross spent three weeks in New York City after the after the attacks.
Her task was working with 33 families that lost love ones, helping with financial burden, medical expenses and even funeral plans.
Green handed out 498,000 dollars in donations that came from Shreveport-Bossier.
She thinks about the tragedy daily.
"There hasn`t been a day that has gone by since my return that I haven`t called out the names of 33 people in prayer, Everyday."
Green says she wishes she could board a plane tomorrow and head back to New York City and give each person that she worked with a hug. She wants them to know they will never be forgotten.
