Sharon LaBorde of Gloster, Louisiana collected Transformers long after the 1980s cartoon went off air. "I first started watching it as a kid in 1984," said LaBorde. "As I got older, I found out there were some things I was getting out of Transformers that I wasnt getting on TV anymore." A few original toys later evolved into a mega-collection that includes hundreds of models, including an updated Megatron and an autographed picture of Optimus Prime. As for the movie, LaBorde says it didnt quite have the magic of the earlier cartoon and comic series, but it will recruit many new fans to a genre shes loved for decades.
