Bossier Sheriff Larry Deen says his investigators have made three arrests following a recent rash of car burglaries in the Haughton area. David Guillory, 17, of Jamestown, Louisiana, and two juveniles were arrested and charged with three counts of simple burglary each. Several stolen items, ranging from cell phones to laptop computers, were recovered by deputies, with some of the items yet to be reported as stolen. “Don’t hesitate to file a report with the Sheriff’s Office if you have had something taken from your vehicle," said Deen. "We may have just recovered what you are missing.” The arrests will close the case on several car burglaries reported over the last several weeks in the Espanita and Country Place subdivisions and the Bodcau Station Road area. Additional arrests may follow. "In each of the cases, the thieves gained access to the vehicles through an unlocked car door," said Deen. "The Bossier Sheriff's Office would like to remind citizens of the importance of removing valuables and securing their vehicle, even when it is parked in their driveway. These types of burglaries were crimes of opportunity, so it is extremely important to remove the criminals' opportunity to steal."
