A Harrison County Jury sentenced a convicted drug smuggler to 99 years behind bars.
The trial concluded wednesday for 24-year-old Derrick Irons of Corinth, Mississippi.
Irons received the maximum sentence for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.
Irons was a passenger in a car traveling through Marshall in March of 2005, when they were pulled over for a routine traffic stop.
Inside, authorities found nearly 500 grams of powder and crack cocaine and a pound of marijuana.
