Two Shreveport Police officers and one former officer turned themselves in Friday; all three are facing felony charges. Melvin Goodson of Shreveport was fired from the Shreveport Police Department last week. He's accused of seizing drugs from a 34 year old Shreveport woman during a traffic stop, then, soliciting her for sex in exchange for not charging her with a narcotics offense.

Cpls. Derrick Brown and Peter D'Arcy are both charged with felony forgery for allegedly changing the times on traffic tickets so they could cash in on a federal overtime grant administered through the Louisiana Highway Safety Administration. Shreveport Police Department Interim Chief Mike Vansant says it will be difficult to determine how many tickets were forged and how long it was going on. He also could not say whether other supervisors and administrators within the department knew about the crimes before it was reported to him. Once it was reported to him, however, Vansant says he immediately launched an investigation.

The department is now opening its own administrative investigation into whether supervisors and administrators played a role in this case. Stay with KTAL for continuing coverage on these arrests.
