The community of Shreveport-Bossier came together to remember Katrina Sunday.
The ceremony was a tribute to all the first responders, volunteers and victims.
Thanks was given to those who worked countless hours in Northwest Louisiana to operate shelters and help with evacuee efforts. It also included encouraging words from state and local officials and offered a glimmer of hope through song.
For the evacuees it was a chance to thank the residents in Shreveport-Bossier for helping during a tragic time.
After the ceremony a candle light vigil was held in Riverview Park. A moment of silence marked the Remembrance of Katrina and the recovery efforts that continue in the state.
