Building Code Changes

By: Import User
Updated: February 5, 2007
Whether you live close to the gulf coast or miles away far it you will be affected if you are building a new home. The governor appointed a council of eighteen people to oversee the state`s new construction codes. The new building codes will mirror the ones already in place in Florida. The only deference is the sunshine state had five years to figure out the changes, Louisiana only has until January 1st. Those on the council say the hardest task is informing people about the new process. Under the new building code inspectors would check out the work once it`s complete and make sure contractors followed all the guidelines. These inspections could cost homeowners anywhere from two to three thousand dollars.
