Caddo Parish School Superintendent Ollie Tyler tendered her resignation at the end of Tuesday's Caddo Parish School Board meeting. The Board President told the crowd that Tyler will be leaving the school system effective July 31, 2007. She will take over as Louisiana's Deputy Superintendent of Education. Tyler says even though she is leaving the area she feels her heart is here in Caddo Parish. Monday there will be a special called meeting to discuss Tyler's resignation, selecting a new Interim Superintendent and finding a permanent replacement for Tyler.
