Suspected Teen Drunk Driver Slams Into Blanchard Home

A suspected drunk driver slammed into a Blanchard home early Saturday morning; leaving a family with at least $50,000 in damages. The suspected drunk driver is only 17 years old. From the looks of the debris, you would think a tornado blew through the house. But, it was hit by a disaster of a different kind. Police say 17 year old Johnny Lee Kennedy drove off the road and straight through Roy and Barbara Walling`s home. "It blew the bathroom door into the bedroom, the walls were released on the other side and the truck just came on through," Roy Walling said. The south end of the home was destroyed. The Wallings along with their 8 year old niece were asleep inside. " I jumped up to check on my husband and he said honey the house is on fire," Barbara Walling said. THe couple rushed outside to find Kennedy and a teenage girl inside the truck. Roy says he pulled the girl out to safety. No one was seriously injured in the crash, but, the damage was already done. For now, Roy and Barbara can`t live in their home. Most of their clothing has been destroyed and the home`s air conditioning system was blown to pieces. Now, Roy says he`s having problems with Kennedy`s insurance. "They sent one man out here, he took pictures and said that`s all he could do," Roy said. Walling built the Blanchard home on his own and hopes to rebuild it himself. The family`s insurance should cover most of the repairs and damages, but, they wonder whether Kennedy learned his lesson. "I really wish that boy had to come out here and clean this mess up. I wonder if he would ever drink again," Barbara Walling said. Kennedy is out on bond. However, the Walling family is still deciding whether they will press charges or file a lawsuit.
