Jerard Woods started singing in Shreveport churches as a small boy. "When I saw my older sister sing," said Woods," I felt like I could even though I didn't know I could."

Decades later, he knows he can. He has shared the stage as a back-up singer for gospel greats like Yolanda Adams, James Moore, and the Winans.

Now, Woods is debuting his own CD to a national audience, and he picked his hometown for the release. "I felt like it would really be special to bring it back here and to people I'm connected with," said Woods. He autographed copies of the CD at the Bert Kouns Walmart, and performed at Peaceful Rest Baptist Church.

Woods still says he abides by the advice and guidance of his grandmother, who is now deceased, every time he performs. "She would say, 'I don't care if there is three people in the audience, you sing like you are singing to millions," said Woods. Now, with the debut of "I waited", he just may.
