"Follow the Christ"... Thats the theme for this years annual Jehovahs Witness convention. "Because we do indeed believe in Jesus Christ. He is our savior," said Convention Spokesperson Carlos Boston. Boston says their belief in Christ... or lack thereof is just one of the common misconceptions about Jehovahs witnesses being dispelled at this years convention. "Were talking about the message that Jesus gave his followers to handle and carry the good news about Gods kingdom and what it will do for mankind." The event was attend by worshippers who practice the faith. And non-witnesses who may be curious to learn more about it. "Obviously all of us need to have some answers to the challenges that we face on a day to day basis. And conventions like this help us to do that," said Boston The Jehovahs Witness faith is deeply based on the teachings of the bible. The convention conveyed that message through song, scripture and dramatic plays. Bossier city couple Jeremy and Randi Mobley were among the thousands of worshippers who attended. "These conventions are a part of building that faith. Theyre encouraging to us," said Jeremy. Jeremy became a witness in 2004. His wife Randi, joined the faith at age 14 and says shes faced a lot of criticism from Non-Chrisitans over the years. "They think we dont care about people. But really, thats why were out there. We really want to give them a hope for the future and really get to know their bible," said Randi Mobley. While you may think of Jehovahs Witnesses as the folks who knock on your door, preaching the gospel. Witnesses say if you just ask youll find theres much more to it than that... Still its a reputation Carlos Boston says theyre not embarrassed by. "It is indeed what Jesus taught us to do. So I think now people expect us, frankly."
