Hilton Hotel Bookings

The doors to the Hilton Hotel in Shreveport are getting ready to open. After years in the making, the relationship between the convention center and the hotel is starting off on the right foot. "We're holding dates through 2012 for conventions and meetings that will be coming to Shreveport and the vast majority of those are going to be using the Hilton as one of their hotels, if not their only hotel,” explained Mike Carrier, General Manager, Shreveport Convention Center. 

The Hilton Hotel has 313 guest rooms and is fully equipped with luxury amenities like 32 inch LCD high definition televisions and complimentary wireless high-speed internet access. Travelers will be offered a variety of package deals to visit the duality.   

In fact the Hilton is going full speed ahead when it comes to attracting large events to the area. "We think the key to large events is first stepping out regionally for a lot of these because those are the contracts to the national events,” said Marianne Nelson, Director of Sales and Marketing.  National events are the mission, Nelson says, and the Hilton coupled with the visitor's bureau is booking up fast this summer.  The results you need in a business that is always thinking ahead. "The attached headquarter hotel is essential in this industry it would make it much more difficult for us to be successful long term,” commented Carrier. "Mayor Glover said it several months ago, the next great city of the south, and that is our goal to fulfill that for Mayor Glover and bring the city to a new level,” recalled Nelson.
