Texarkana authorities believe the suspects of a burglary of the Texarkana animal shelter let pit bulls run freely thru the kennels. That's why a number of dead cats were found and investigators say the cats had to be physically let out of their cages in order for the carnage to occur.

After the initial shock, investigators found further damage thruout the shelter, which had been turned upside down. Windows in an office had been broken, a safe and it's money inside it gone along with medications and other items from inside the shelter. Police don't know who is responsible but the suspects face felony theft charges along with animal cruelty charges. Police are asking for your help in solving this crime. If you have any information concerning this matter please contact the Texarkana Arkansas Police.
