Guilty Plea in Murder of Former Arkansas Mayor

A Columbia County man has pleaded guilty to his part in the murder of a former McNeil, Arkansas mayor. Shaunte Smith will serve 30 years in prison for the June 2006 murder of Mayor Ralph Ward. Ward's granddaughter, Nena Bolton pleaded guilty earlier this year. Smith admitted to authorities the pair planned on collecting a $1 million inheritance from Ward.
