Child Protective Visit Leads to Drug Arrests

cTexas Child Protective Services claim one of their employees uncovered drugs during a scheduled visit this week and had to call police for help. They were at a home on 906 Bulter Street in Longview belonging to James Wortham and Amanda WIllan. When police answered the call, the C.P.S. caseworker met them outside and informed them about what she believed to be marijuana stashed inside the house. After obtaining a search warrant, the responding officers checked the property out and reported finding three pounds of marijuana, 119 Xanax pills and a small quanitity of suspected methamphetamine. 24 year old Wortham and 26 year old Willan were both taken into custody and booked into the Gregg County Jail. Wortham faces several charges including possession of marijuana over four ounces and less than five pounds and two counts of possession of a controlled substance. Willan also faces several charges. They are possession of marijuana over four ounces and less than five pounds and one count of possession of a controlled substance. Willan is also charged in connection to two outstanding warrants.
