Hotel Manager Pleads Guilty of Hurricane Related Fraud

A local Texarkana hotel manager has pleaded guilty to defrauding hurricane evacuees. Dena Fuselier, manager at Ramada Inn in Texarkana pleaded guilty to over-billing the American Red Cross following the devastation of hurricane Katrina. Fuselier instructed her employees to check the evacuees in for a 14 day stay and to keep them in the computers even if the guests checked out. False billing statements were sent to the Red Cross in an estimated amount of $19,980.00.
