Shreveport Water Woes

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
The "Water Woes" continue in Shreveport, this time on Werner Avenue. Some residents woke up to a river running through their yards. A six inch water main burst around nine Saturday morning. It took city workers more than four hours to shut the water off and locate a crew to work on the break. Workers say they responded as quick as they could but fixing the problem requires more than just shutting off the water. Hot temperatures caused the ground to shift and workers say that is why the old pipes burst. They worked for much of the day to replace the lines.
