Chase Suspect Turns Himself In To Police

x dSean Sharp, the man who swam across Twelve Mile Bayou to avoid authorities during a recent pursuit, turned himself in Tuesday. Sharp turned himself in to Probation and Parole and was subsequently booked into Caddo Correctional Center on a warrant for illegal possession of stolen things and aggravated flight from an officer.

He is accused of stripping a stolen 1995 Buick Rivera in the old landfill at Hwy. 1 and Hwy. 169. When deputies arrived at the landfill, he fled the scene and led them on a 13.2-mile pursuit. He jumped from the vehicle at the Twelve Mile Bayou Bridge and disappeared. Two others were arrested.

Locals recount past tornadoes

The recent tornado coverage is bringing up memories of past twisters in our area.  Bossier Parish was hit by multiple tornadoes in 2009.

Just last Thursday, Waskom and Greenwood were hit by an EF-1 tornado.

A Bossier Parish man recalls the tornado which touched down near Swan Lake Road in 1978.  A man who survived a tornado in Benton in 1999 also shared his story.
