Candidate For Congress Upset Over Letter

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
A letter has surfaced in Shreveport that has a candidate running for Congress upset. It promotes racism and discredits the teachings of Christian faith. Several pastors in Shreveport have received it. "When I saw Doctor Cash`s name on the return address, I opened it and read it, it was contradictory; what was in the letter for someone running for office or what he believes," said Reverend Joe Gant. The return address was that of Doctor Artis Cash, who is also running for U.S. Congress. The letter quotes scriptures from the bible out of context and touts racism. Gant shared the letter with Doctor Cash and he became angry. "The message will make you throw up," said Cash. He is now trying to have the letter investigated by authorities and the U.S. Postal Service.
