How to Prepare For Severe Weather

By: Maria Vallejo
Updated: March 30, 2007
dExperts advise families to monitor the weather throughout the day, the best way to do this is by using a weather radio. They also advise families to have plenty of supplies on hand such as batteries, flashlights and an emergency generator just in case the power goes out. And if a tornado does hit our area they say you should seek cover indoors. Experts say it's also a good idea to have an emergency plan in place. This plan should be discussed in advance so that every member of the family knows what it is ahead of time.
