It has been a busy 24 hours for crime scene investigators in Texarkana, Arkansas. They are working two homicides and have one suspect in custody.
A body found in an apartment on Linden Street Wednesday afternoon. Police say a maintanence worker found 39-year-old Myron Woods inside his home. They say his body had been there for a week and it appears to have at least one stab wound. Police say theyre waiting for an autopsy report to determine the exact cause of death, and charges could be filed against a possible suspect as early as Friday.
Just hours after the discovery of Woods body, officers were called to a motel in the 900 block of Realtor Road in reference to a shooting. "They located the suspect still on scene in the motel room and the victim had suffered a gunshot wound to the upper body and was laying on the floor," says Texarkana, Arkansas Police Officer Chris Rankin.
44-year-old John Bennett of Houston is now charged with second degree murder. The victim is identified as 41-year-old Kevin Block. Police think the shooting was a result of an arguement, but the investigation continues. No bond has been set for Bennett.
