As we draw closer to the 2008 Presidential Election, more people are announcing their intentions to run. There is one East Texas man who says hes the man for the job. His name is Billy Paul Russell. And he lives in Leesburg, Texas. "In God he trusts" and by his apple cider vinegar concoction he swears, Russell markets it as Santas Solution to take away all your aches and pains but its not his medicine that is getting all the attention. It is his plans for the 2008 Presidential Election. "I am going to be president, there is no doubt in my mind about it." Your children have probably sat on his lap at Mall St. Vincent and The Shreveport Club. Hes known as Santa Claus and says the jolly ole man has a lot in common with the Commander In Chief. "The love of people, Influence..." Hes authored a book or two and reads a lot himself, keeping up on national news. Russell wants to represent the people. When asked about his platform, he believes the Republicans are spending too much money in Iraq and says hes not conservative but hes not a liberal either. When asked about securing our nations borders, hes got his own solution to that problem. "We should be bringing Mexico into the nation." And Russell has even named a cabinet that includes Colin Powell and Bill Cosby. "You have to have something special to get people to listen. People will listen to Bill Cosby." A dairy farmer and an army record keeper, he now says hes one of gods shepherds and thats what our nation needs. Billy Paul Russell says he plans to use the money from his books and generous donors to support his presidential bout. "I dont believe in doing anything that anybody else can do better, I dont have all the answers." Russell must gather 74,108 signatures from registered voters who didnt vote in the last presidential primary in Texas. This before he can be listed on the ballot. Then the same must be done in the remaining 49 states.
