Shreveport Police captured a man who allegedly carjacked a woman in front of an ATM machine and sexually assaulted her before she could escape the car. Anthony Ashley, 39, of Shreveport was taken into custody around 3 a.m. Friday after detectives got a warrant for his arrest. He is charged with first-degree robbery, flight in a vehicle, aggravated kidnapping and aggravated rape. His bond is set for just over $1 million. Detectives have spent countless hours investigating this case ever since it happened Monday night. Citizens' tips were extremely helpful in leading detectives to the suspect. Just a couple of hours after detectives got the warrant Friday morning, Ashley was located on the Portland Street Bridge by K-9 Cpl. Daniel Sawyer and his K-9 Renzo. After failing to comply with the officer's demands to stop, K-9 Renzo was deployed and captured the suspect. Ashley was transported to LSU Hospital for treatment of dog bites before being booked into the Shreveport City Jail.
